The Best Rubber Boots are Not Made From Rubber

The Materials
We started with the materials. Injex boots feature a proprietary polymer that is 100% waterproof while weighing considerably less than rubber. However, that decrease in weight has no drawbacks… injex polymer is stronger and more durable than rubber. If you spend your work days slogging through wet environments, you know that it’s a big deal how heavy your boots are.
The Mold
Next, we moved on to the mold. We spent years designing the perfect mold for our injex boots. Boots that were easy to get on and off, yet secure and ergonomic. Once we completed our mold, we needed to scale up the process!
Injex boots are injection molded on a custom built and molding machine that was specially built only for this purpose. Our injection molder combines the polymer compounds at 10,000 rpm, which generates considerable heat. Once our polymer is totally blended, we inject the searing hot compound into our mold.
The result? A space age polymer, perfectly blended and injected into a perfect mold… the perfect rubber boot!
The Finishing Touches
However, it’s a Red Wing Boot, and if you know anything about how we do things, you know we didn’t stop at perfect. We take it to the next level! Once our casting and molding process is complete, our craftsman get their hands on these boots and put on the finishing touches. After a rigorous quality control inspection, our Injex Boots are shipped to the stores, destined for workers like yourself!
